The Vitorian Club is very satisfied with the hiring of the first and only option for Baskonia’s bench.
Laboral Kutxa Baskonia already has its new coach. The chosen one is an old aqcuaintance for the Vitorian fan base, Velimir Perasovic. He has reached an agreement with Baskonia for the next season with an option for the club to extend it another for another year. The 50 year old Croatian coach has leaded Valencia Basket since the 2011-12 season until the end of this and now returns to Baskonia after his period as first coach in the 2005-06, substituting Pedro Martinez.
Perasovic, that during the last month of march was selected as the Head Coach for the Croatian National Team, reasures a great experience of over a decade as a Head Coach. After his succesful period as a player of Jugoplastika, Breogan, Fuenlabrada and even Taugres from Vitoria among others, the coach born in Split made the leap to the bench.
His debut in the ACB League with Caja San Fernando kickstarted a career in which he has coached teams from all over Europe such as Estudiantes, Cibona, Efes Pilsen or Valencia Basket. He won the Cup with Baskonia and Cibona and the League with the team from Zagreb. However, his best achievements have come with the Valencian team, winning the Eurocup last year and getting the ticket for the Euroleague.
The new Laboral Kutxa Baskonia coach will join Baskonia once finished his commitments with the Croatian National Team.
