Madrid-born head coach takes over Vitoria squad after reaching an agreement with Saski Baskonia for the next two seasons.
Sito Alonso is the new coach for Laboral Kutxa Baskonia. Madrid-born coach has been chosen by baskonista’s board to be in charge of the team for the following two seasons. One of the most promising managers racks up large experience in the Liga Endesa after leading Gipuzkoa Basket roster from 2011 to 2014 and Bilbao Basket team the last two seasons competing also in Europe.
Earlier in his career, Sito Alonso succeed being an assistant coach at Joventut, under Aito García Reneses’ direction, winning the Copa del Rey title and the ULEB Cup in 2008, while he also won with Joventut the Eurocup in 2006. New baskonista coach has the experience taking care of young players’ growth as he was Spanish U20 Spain team coach, combined with the Bronze medal achieved in the European Championship held in Estonia in 2013.
