The new Baskonia player praises coach Crespi and thinks that “his method and ideas will benefit the team a lot”.
New Laboral Kutxa Baskonia signing Orlando Johnson has been presented today at noon. The shooting guard will wear number 33, the same number as one of the Baskonia icons Mirza Teletovic.
Accompanied by the sports director Felix Fernandez, the North American shooting guard attended the media and talked about his first impressions as a Baskonia player.
“Of course, I´m a killer”. Orlando Johnson was clear about it. He explained that he has learned from great players and that he comes to Vitoria in order to work hard every day and show what kind of player he is.
He likes Marco Crespi´s working method and stated the following during his presentation. “I like a lot the way he coaches He´s hard, demands a lot from us and wants us to play as a team, I like the coaching system and I think that it will benefit the team”.
Attacking the rim and putting up points are two of the skills that define him as a player and that´s what the coach asked from him. “Marco wants me to play as I know, as I did in college. He wants me to be aggressive, offensive and to handle the ball good. He also wants me to help the team and to take advantage from my offensive skills”.
From the USA to Vitoria in order to dispute two competitions per week. For the new Baskonia player it´s not hard and assures that he is going to “adapt himself to this role really good. It´s not something new for me but it´s also true that the Euroleague is a great challenge because there is some differences. I’m very happy because I´m going to be playing in the best European league and want to show everybody what I´m worth”.
