The new Laboral Kutxa Baskonia coach will be Marco Crespi. The coach from Varese reaches an agreement with the Club for one season, with a clause to continue another one depending on results and objectives.
Hard worker, thorough and energetic, he is looking forward to take on his new project in Vitoria. Marco Crespi comes to Vitoria “eager to start because he is a court man and also an office worker really looking to start working with all the components”.
The coach, with an extensive experience in the Italian League, also knows about the Spanish competition. “I was in ACB many years ago and when all that time passes, you change in everything. I think I’m a different person and a different coach. I feel great and I’m happy to work in a club that has made their mark out of their work. I’ve always noticed this team”, said the Varese.
Crespi explains his working method performed during last season which made them discuss La Liga title against Olimpia Milano. “I try to establish a one on one relationship with the players. I set individual targets for players that have to do with our everyday work”.
The new Laboral Kutxa Baskonia coach is passionate about his work and believes that “we, as coaches are very lucky because our work is our passion, so I think that every day we have to give the best of us”.
The Italian is known for his character and the energy which he performs his tasks with and notes that “I work with lots of positive energy, emotion and passion and I try to transmit all of this to everyone around me”.
Among the roster several young players are featured and Crespi is used to train with them. One of his mottos is the high demand at all levels. “With young players you have to work so hard and also before concentrating on technical details they need to be taught how to work mentally every day. Maybe after a good game they feel too comfortable but they should keep on pushing. I like to work with anyone who loves basketball and it’s passionate about the sport”.
A new season will begin in a few weeks and the head coach is very excited to compete at all levels. “We don´t have to look at other teams but to impose a work ethic, and try to meet the objective of getting better as a team every day. The sports culture means imposing a work ethic”.
