Laboral Kutxa has signed a deal for the services of point-guard Alex Renfroe from the U.S. until the end of the season. The player, measuring 1.91 m and 28 years old, was formed at the Universities of Trevecca Nazarene (NAIA) and Belmont (NCAA) and debuted in European basketball in 2009 in the Latvian league. After playing for KK Zagreb in 2011 and in the New Basket Brindisi, the American guard landed in Endesa League´s Blancos de Rueda Valladolid for the 2012-13 season.
After a stint in Spain, the new Baskonia acquisition played last season in the Brose Baskets Bamberg, with which he became champion of the German Bundesliga. During this season he has played in the Russian Spartak Krasnoyarsk in which he averaged 13.8 points, 6.4 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 30 minutes per game.
