Baskonia prepares the return to training in BAKH, taking extreme security and hygiene measures.
KIROLBET Baskonia has already marked up its roadmap to come back to trainings. After several weeks of telematics work supervised by the technical coach’s staff, Dusko Ivanovic’s pupils prepare to restart working on the court next Thursday under strict protections measures to ensure staff and immediate environment safety and hygiene.
Based on the protocols established by Sports Superior Council, the Spanish Basketball Doctors Association and the General Medicine Council, Saski Baskonia is already working on its own Contingency Plan developed together with its own External Prevention Service. The plan has been reviewed following the established guidelines of the protocol elaborated on May 4th by Sports Superior Council, Basic Action Protocol training return and the professional competitions restart.
The basic principles guiding our actions are the following: guarantee players and their relatives safety, coaching staff safety and all workers who interact with the players during trainings.
On Sunday, Monday and Tuesday medical tests will be carried out and trainings will start again on Thursday at BAKH.
On Sunday morning, all players from the first team located in Vitoria-Gasteiz have made a first medical control.
The players and professionals surrounding the first team will also go through medical tests on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, including PCR and antibody tests.
Likewise, all these professionals working for the club will receive an online risk and prevention training in order to assure a better knowledge return.
The place chosen to start again training will be BAKH Complex, which will be previously subjected to total disinfection through spraying and fogging.
Measures taken on training’s return
The Club will be responsible of hydrogel dispensers placing at all facility entry points, playing field and restrooms.
Only the minimum people possible would be present at the Complex (coaching staff, security and field cleaning and care personnel). Only previously authorized workers will be allowed to enter.
The transport means used by workers, players and coaching staff must always be the same. In this sense, the facility access person in charge will inform each member of the organization who enters the venue where he must park his vehicle.
There will be an attendance players table that will be shared with all the first team, coaching staff and employees present in the facility, so there is a detailed knowledge about players timing and presence on the training field.
The BAKH Basketball Court has 6 baskets, so there will never be more than 6 players at a time in the facility. Each player will be allowed to exercise with one coach. The distance between players will always be more than 4 meters. The schedules have been organized with a 10 minutes’ arrival difference, in a staggered way, avoiding crossings.
From the arrival to BAKH facilities until playing field access, players must wear masks and gloves. Both things must be worn by all staff except players during physical or tactical training. Waste bins with lid and pedal and waste plastic bags (gloves and masks) will be placed around the playing fields. Facilities’ ventilation is guaranteed as indicated by the regulations.
Each player will be assigned a ball to perform necessary and essential exercises and will not interact with any other player. Disinfection will be carried out before and after each session (balls, mats and other physical training devices). Towels, water bottles and supplements will be for exclusive and nominal use.
Players will wash their hands before and after ball and gym trainings. Players will arrive to facility with their training clothes on from home and will wear their own training shoes. The player himself will be responsible for cleaning his training clothes.
