Baskonista player made his debut with Spain yesterday evening against Angola, in a 85-61 victory over the African team.
For Laboral Kutxa Baskonia big man, becoming an international player is a dream come true. He replaced Felipe Reyes with 04:37 to play in the first quarter.
Diop played 11 minutes for Spain in the first Olympics preliminary games. Baskonista put on 4 points and 3 boards while he was on the court. Afterwards the center showed joy because of the special day he experimented at ‘El Coliseum’ in Burgos.
“I’m very happy I was able to make my debut with the team today in Burgos. At first I was a little bit nervous standing there with a lot of talented players but few minutes later I felt better and more comfortable on the court,” Diop said.
