Very tough win for Baskonia against Iberostar Tenerife by 76-72. Sito Alonso squad had been listed with only 9 players and important absences so Baskonia got into the Barris Nord court to play with a high intensity.
The game has been very tight and this win means a big step in Baskonia preseason. In less than 24 hours the team faces the second game of the Circuito Movistar tournament.
At first Vitoria-Gasteiz team set the pace with a 6-0 run that would be tied rapidly by Iberostar Tenerife. At the end of the first quarter Baskonia led 16-15 but soon Doornekamp and Javier Beiran would show up.
After the halftime Beaubois took over and with him has come the best minutes from Baskonia. A three-pointer by the French tied the game and gets the team the necessary confidence to come back into it. With a one point deficit starting the fourth quarter, Tadas Sedekerskis and Rodrigue Beaubois again contributed to our first wim in Lleida closing the game 76-72.
