The Latvian comes eager to transmit lots of energy on the court and help in all aspects of the game.
Davis Bertans will wear Baskonia colors during 2014/2015 season. The young player is one of the new Laboral Kutxa pieces. The Latvian reports to feel “very well. Now I’m training and I’m really well. Right now I´m in the United States working out”.
The player explained that his “expectations for this season are good. I really want to play the Euroleague, compete on the Top 16 and get to the Top 8, apart from doing a good job in the Spanish Endesa League. I want to win every game, and the first early-season title. Do the best job we can in the regular season and then also keep it up in the playoffs”.
Bertans knows about many players who have gone through the ranks of Baskonia and added that he is “really excited, I know many players who played for Baskonia and have made fantastic careers in the NBA or Europe so I am happy arriving here”.
He doesn´t know the city but has already talked to different people about Vitoria. His brother has been here and explains that as his brother has played “in Bilbao this season he has told me something about here. He loves Bilbao and the Basque Country; he also enjoys restaurants and good food and told me that the experience has been really amazing”.
The Latvian defines some of the aspects of his game he´s been improving lately and notes that he has “been working hard his three point shot and his work on the court. During this time I have tried to improve in other aspects of my game, working on the courts. The first thing I think on is defense and that’s what I go for when I get into the court”.
Bertans is clear about a thing: “I´m a player who hates to lose any game. I don´t care what competition is, I always give my best to try to win”.
Also Bertans ensures that he can bring many things into the team. “I think I can transmit a lot of energy and effort when I´m on the court. I’m a shooter, so I’ll try to score a lot for the team and help in other areas at the same time”.
