Throughout this month we will make an up close and personal scouting approach to the new Baskonia players.
Toko Shengelia, Kim Tillie, Davis Bertans, Orlando Johnson and Colton Iverson are the new signings for the 2014/2015 season and Laboral Kutxa Baskonia wants you to get to know them in depth.
Throughout September we will show, through videos, how are the new players in the squad. How they play, what their virtues are, what is what draws more attention to them … and all these aspects will be explained from the point of view of Alfredo Salazar, Technical Secretary of the Club, and through his own teammates.
The first player we are presenting already showed some details of his game in the first pre-season match held in Eskoriatza. Iverson defines himself as a “hard worker and hustler” and he proved it yesterday with 10 rebounds, 3 steals and a final rating of 15, the best for Baskonia.
Alfredo Salazar, Technical Secretary, defines the center as “tall, drafted and surprisingly quick for his height”. He reminds me a lot to Splitter, we could say that physically they are very similar. For his great height, defends great and goes hard for the offensive rebound”. Salazar notes that “he can do other things too, but he is a very practical player, he is very active and can surprise”.
His teammate and team captain Fernando San Emeterio also commented some aspects about him. The forward from Cantabria claimed Iverson to be a “serious player, that´s what defines him best. He knows good how to move on the paint and how to find holes, he will help us a lot”.
San Emeterio points out his character: hard worker, defends and rebounds. A great choice that will help us a lot throughout the season.
