The draw of the semifinals has taken place this morning and the first opponent that Baskonia will face in 2016-17 season is Herbalife Gran Canaria with Luis Casimiro as new head coach.
Supercup Endesa semifinals have been revealed to be held in Vitoria-Gasteiz on September 23 (7 and 9:30 pm). The blue and red team will square off Herbalife Gran Canaria in the first semifinal and the second game will feature Real Madrid and Barcelona Lassa.
Sito Alonso squad will play the opening game of the 2016-17 season officially against a tough team, which they already met in the past Liga Endesa quarterfinals. Herbalife also reached semifinal in last Eurocup.
Canray Islands team will land in Vitoria with a new head coach Luis Casimiro and four other new faces: Bo McCalebb, Richard Hendrix, Royce O’Neale and former baskonista Darko Planinic, who will return to Vitoria-Gasteiz. At Herbalife Gran Canaria several estimated players such as Albert Oliver, Xavi Rabaseda, Pablo Aguilar and Eulis Báez remain one more season.
Herbalife have played one preseason game so far winning Iberostar Tenerife 63-77. Next rival they’ll meet is Movistar Estudiantes on Wednesday.
