Baskonia gets the first win of the season in the Euroleague after beating Anadolu Efes 85-84 in a demanding night at Buesa Arena. Sito Alonso’s side overcome Andrea Bargnani’s and Adam Hanga’s foul trouble in the fourth quarter to sail a 11-1 run which made the biggest differences for Baskonia even though Anadolu Efes had the last possession to get the triumph.
The game has been continuously tied along it but in the first half the visitors were a bit better helped by Brown or Cotton who lead Anadolu Efes as Baskonia stopped Heurtel.
For Baskonia Andrea Bargnani has 26 points and Tornike Shengelia 16 points. Anadolu Efes could not shut down Baskonia’s frontcourt contribution with Johannes Voigtmann dropping 12 points and 8 boards.
In the last quarter Baskonia came out to show their bravery and game intensity and that was one of the keys as the home team got notable differences (11-1 run included).
However, Turkish squad Anadolu Efes kept pushing and had in Bryce Cotton’s hands the chance to win the game from a three pointer. It didn’t go in and Baskonia closed their first win of the regular season in Euroleague.
