Saski Baskonia continues its commitment to the world of eSports and from this point assumes the management and control of the Baskonia Atlantis Club, that was born last year with the aim of becoming a world reference and that has been renamed Baskonia eSports. The club will be fully integrated into the structure of Saski Baskonia and will have its own marketing and communications department. This is an ambitious step forward for the Baskonia entity that understands as necessary the professionalization of a very attractive market that moves a year billions of euros, which has audiences that exceed those of the NBA, with tournaments that bring together hundreds of thousands of fans and represents a new way of generating resources.
After a year of hard work and competition, the project Baskonia Atlantis consolidates to become Baskonia eSports with the ambition to gain a foothold in this exciting and complex universe thanks to the support of the firm Mars Gaming. In this first phase, Baskonia eSports starts with a strong bet on League of Legends, Counter Strike Global Offensive, Hearthstone y FIFA/NBA2K and is in advanced negotiations with other disciplines that will be announced soon and that will make Baskonia eSports a multidisciplinary reference.
The League of Legends squad will be captained by former gamer and connoisseur of LoL universe, Alvar ‘Araneae‘ Martin, ex-coach of Fnatic, one of the most prestigious professional teams worldwide. The Counter-Strike team will be led by the CEO of the former Baskonia Atlantis, CS benchmark from the beginning and first Spanish to leave the country to engage in international tournaments to compete for top teams such as SK Gaming, Ana ‘Anouc’ Oliveras.
