Baskonia beat UCAM Murcia 87-75 in the first win of the season at Buesa. Sito Alonso squad had a great performance during second half, coming back from a 15-point deficit at half time (22-37).
The blue and red team were not getting to the rim easily in the first two periods but defensively the intensity was good enough to not allow UCAM Murcia get a bigger lead. Adam Hanga, Tornike Shengelia and the good rebounding activity had been the best news for our team so far.
From the locker room break Baskonia with a 33-14 run in the third quarter –helped by an outstanding Jaka Blazic with 14 points in global– put Baskonia in charge of the game, not suffering a lot to keep the victory during the clutch moments in the last quarter.
Andrea Barnani had 20 points tonight while Shane Larkin and Rafa Luz controlled Facundo Campazzo (13) in most of the game phases.
Baskonia now face at the Palau Blaugrana on top of the standings the third game of the league on Sunday at 5pm.
