Tornike Shengelia is one of the four baskonistas who will take part in FIBA Eurobasket 2017 Qualifiers. Georgia National Team’s desire is to get into it with the blue and red player starring.
Toko’s squad was drawn in Group F with Albania, Slovakia and Montenegro which is the hardest test to overcome in order to come out in first place and take part in the FIBA Eurobasket next year.
“It’s an honor to play and represent my country. Even though Montenegro is one of the best teams in our pool we must respect the other teams. What is a clear advantage is to play the possible decisive game at home in front of our crowd.” says.
“If we qualify for the 2017 FIBA Eurobasket there’ll be a big chance to perform in the World Cup and in the Olympics,” goes on.
Moreover, Shengelia is pleased with new Euroleague’s format this season. “I think it’s great what they’ve donde as all the teams are allowed to play many games until the end of the season.”
