Baskonista opponent became champion of ‘Liga de las Americas’ and will take part in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup.
Laboral Kutxa Baskonia will play ‘Trofeo Diputacion’ classic game against Guaros de Lara (Venezuela) on September 28 at Buesa Arena. This will be the 25th occasion in which this preseason trophy is held but this year is occurring days after the Endesa Supercup, first official tournament in ACB.
The team chosen to play against is ‘Liga de las Americas’ reigning champion Guaros de Lara coached by Spaniard Ivan Deniz. It’s been the first Venezuelan team to win this championship that is the most prestigious one in South America.
Guaros de Lara advanced to the semifinal in Liga LBP and prior to come to Vitoria-Gasteiz they will face Frankfurt Skyliners in the FIBA Intercontinental Cup. After that, Guaros de Lara will enter a stage in Spain to play against other ‘Liga Endesa’ teams.
