German international player comes from Beko BBL league in an agreement with Baskonia. Medical examination will be undertaken prior to official announcement.
Johannes Voigtmann has been selected by Baskonia to become the first 2016-17 signing. Young 23-old German center (2.11 meters) has agreed deal’s term with Baskonia, which is subject to a successful medical examination held in Vitoria next week.
German center arrives from Fraport Skyliners, averaging 11.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists in BEKO BBL, as he had similar figures in the FIBA Europe Cup, becoming champion last season with his former club.
Johannes Voigtmann also played latest Eurobasket in France (2015) with Germany, making his first appearance in one of the biggest national teams tournaments. The new ‘baskonista’ player is currently involved in Germany’s squad pre-selection for 2017 Eurobasket qualifying. Voigtmann will be the third German player to wear Baskonia’s jersey after Sebastian Machowski and Tibor Pleiss.
Voigtmann is arriving in Vitoria next Monday when medical examination will be conducted by Laboral Kutxa Baskonia’s doctors.
