Laboral Kutxa has secured the services of former NBA Tornike Shengelia. The Club and the Georgian power forward have reached an agreement for the next three seasons.
Tornike Shengelia, 2.03 meters tall and 22 years old, was born in Tbilisi and has the condition of formation player. The versatile player was chosen in the 2012 NBA Draft, but before making the leap to the best league in the world he played for Belgian Belgacom Spirou with whom he played the Euroleague. After a stint in Europe, Shengelia made the jump to the NBA where he has played for the Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls, in addition to some appearances in the American Development League.
International with Georgia, Tornike Shengelia becomes the first Baskonia addition for the 2014-15 season. The new Baskonia player arrives to Vitoria next Monday in order to undergo medical examinations.
