Yesterday afternoon, prior to the clash between Laboral Kutxa and Fenerbache, things got emotional in the press room. Euroleague’s Executive Chief Jordi Bertomeu handed over a commemorative plaque to the President of Saski Baskonia SAD Josean Querejeta for the 300 games the team has played in the tournament.
The plaque frames the first game Baskonia played in this competition on 26 October 2000 against Cibona. Pictures of some of the most significant moments of the team on their way through Europe are also attached.

Bertomeu explained that the Euroleague really likes constant teams like Baskonia and this is the type of club they want with them. “It is clear that they are a reference not only in Spain but Europe and a role model for anyone,” added.
Josean Querejeta stated that “this kind of recognition is very gratifying and encourages us to continue working in a setting that is not easy.”
